ABOUT US
Our Philosophy
Our Nest Daycare is a boutique early learning program inspired by Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies. We offer a nurturing, home-like environment where children learn through hands-on exploration, creativity, and play.
Our STEAM-based, theme-driven curriculum integrates art, science, sensory experiences, and practical life skills, encouraging curiosity, independence, and self-expression. Through nature-based learning and open-ended activities, we support each child’s unique development and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Our Founder
Hi parents! My name is Michelle - I'm a mother, wife, and the founder of Our Nest. I own this beautiful home with my husband, Del, and we have two young children, Waylai and Yana. Born and raised in China, I am fluent in Mandarin and English and have loved the experience of learning a foreign language since little. I started to play the piano when I was 4 and realized the importance of starting music introduction early on. I also earned my Master's Degree in Education from the University of San Diego and was later drawn to the Reggio Emilia & Montessori approach in early childhood education. Being a loving mother of two young children also made me incredibly empathetic and relatable to all the young parents out there trying to survive this chaotic yet beautiful journey of parenting.
Our Program
Our mixed-age program for children 18 months to 5 years is designed to support early development through a balanced blend of Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches. Children learn through hands-on exploration, purposeful play, and guided discovery.
With a STEAM-focused, theme-based curriculum, we integrate science, art, math, sensory, and practical life skills into daily learning—helping children build strong cognitive, social-emotional, and problem-solving foundations while fostering independence and a love of learning.
